I note from the website

"that from 00.01 a.m. on 12 March 2007 the Declaration made at 2.00 p.m. on
1 March 2007 is revoked and that all measures applicable in the Surveillance
Zone and Restricted Zone by virtue of that Declaration are ended"

Yes that's right.

The SVS from Bury St Edmunds announced it on local BBC last week in their
usual orgy of self-congratulation.

BBC were less convinced. A question about why we had to wait until Monday
was ignored and answered with "that is the earliest it can be done" followed
by another bout of self-congratulation.

On the third attempt the BBC linked the question to the observation that
smallholders were ignoring the restrictions. That was ignored and used as a
crutch for a third bout of self-congratulation.

The BBC interviewer gave up and announced more lay offs at Matthews.
Lay-offs that have still not been reported in the press.

By the way, the BBC were right. There were free range chickens in a paddock
alongside a main road within two miles of Matthews. I drove past on Friday
last.

Trading Standards obviously decided discretion was the better side of
valour. There has been discontent within TS and they have obviously decided
the days of the SVS instituting a reign of terror are in the past.

Anyway, the SVS and FSA are now going to have to explain their conduct. That
is going to take some explaining.

Jim Webster

And BM tries to recover their position
http://tinyurl.com/2t7o9h their new media advert

BM comes out fighting
http://tinyurl.com/36we9o

both articles from the Norwich Evening News

Another source has suggested that BM are going to the government for other
funding as the company was already in trouble before this. Certainly I saw a
report of them closing a Norfolk centre at the end of last year with the
loss of 75 jobs.

Yes, I dare say someone might want to enquiring why panicky rumours were

spread on the Internet claiming that the trains weren't going to be
allowed to stop. And that the rumour-monger persisted in spreading them
even after he had been told, categorically and with evidence, that he
was wrong.

That remark speaks for itself.

However, you do have to understand that the minute you accept money you
acquire a whole lot of duties and responsibilities.

That, of course, will be your undoing.
